Akshay Kumar to essay a double role in Kaththi remake!
Bollywood action maestro Akshay Kumar will be next seen in a double role in the official remake of the Tamil film Kaththi. Akshay will reunite with his Holiday director A. R. Murugadoss for the upcoming film. This official remake will go on floors in August 2016.
The original film Kaththi featured south actor Vijay in a double role – as a petty thief and a postgraduate with staunch communist ideologies. Currently, the film maker is re-scripting the project to suit the North Indian audience. It is confirmed that the Khiladi Kumar will be seen in a double role.
The project is titled Ikka, as per the sources. The film will be shot in Chennai, having a start-to-finish two month schedule. The story travels across Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangkok.
After shooting for Shankar’s magnum opus starring Rajnikanth, Robot 2.0, Akshay Kumar is expected to start shooting for the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaththi.
The Hindi remake of the Vijay-starrer Tamil hit, titled Ikka, will go on floors in August 2016 and the shooting for the film is expected to be wrapped up by October 2016. Akshay Kumar has allotted bulk dates to the producers of Ikka and the actor plans to start shooting for the film in one go. Akshay Kumar will be seen in a double role in the AR Murugadoss production that revolves around the issue of water scarcity and farmer suicides.
Ikka will be shot at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Bangkok. The movie will be directed by Jagan, an associate of AR Murugadoss.
