Our friendship in real reflects on reel: Siju Wilson
Mollywood has seen several bromances over the years but not many had real-life buddies teaming up for the on-screen version. Director Omar Abdul Wahab’s Happy Wedding though had childhood buddies Siju Wilson and Sharafudheen teaming up and their off-screen chemistry only added to their performance.
The duo, who left the audience in splits with their combination scenes in Premam , followed it up with equally humourous scenes in their latest venture. Siju says it was their friendship in real life that really helped them to perform well despite it being a challenge for them to carry an entire movie on their shoulders.
“We are really good friends so there was a mutual understanding and so we didn’t have to act but just react. We tease each other and pass counter dialogues. As a matter of fact, we were living on screen,” he gushes.
The actor is also happy with the response the film has been receiving. “It was a simple movie with a light subject. So it makes me happy when I see smiles on the faces of the audience as they leave the theatre,” he says. The two will next team up in Althaf’s directorial debut, in which they will share screen with Nivin Pauly again.
