Gayathri to speak Kottayam dialect in Nivin’s next
Gayathri Suresh is just two films old but she’s already ticked off a wish from her bucket list as far as her acting career is concerned. The actress has been cast as a nurse in the upcoming Nivin Pauly movie, which is directed by Sidhartha Siva.
“Even before I did my debut film Jamnapyari, when people asked me who I would love to act with, I would say Nivin Pauly. So, it’s a dream come true!” says the actress, who has just finished the first schedule of the film in her hometown Thrissur.
While her previous two movies — ‘Jamnapyari’ and ‘Ore Mukham’ — had her speaking in her native accent, the upcoming film has her dabbling with Kottayam dialect. “This movie actually required me to speak Kottayam slang. So, it was a bit of a hassle for me. I play a nurse in the movie and I had to be rather subtle while performing, unlike my previous characters that were a bit loud,” says Gayathri, who will be seen as a cowardly college student in the Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer ‘Ore Mukham’.
Interestingly, all her films including Ore Mukham, which was filmed in Kerala Varma College, have been shot in Thrissur. “That’s the best part. I guess I am lucky because I get to be home after the shooting is over,” she says.
The next schedule of the Nivin Pauly film, which also has ‘Kakka Muttai’ fame Aishwarya Rajesh and Aparna Gopinath, will resume only after four months. This would mean that Gayathri can also get back to her banking career. “I am also working as a banking professional. So, I will be resuming my duties till the next schedule or else they will chuck me out,” she says.
