Leela will be my favourite character ever: Parvathy Nambiar
Actress Parvathy Nambiar has been in the limelight ever since she opted to essay the character Leela in Ranjith’s latest flick, which was based on Unni R’s short story.
Even after weeks of its release, the movie is much talked about and Parvathy is on cloud nine for being part of Leela, especially in the titular role.
Talking about the overwhelming responses she has been receiving from the viewers, the pretty girl says, “Leela will be my favourite character ever. I am getting a lot of congratulatory messages. Some even said thanks for giving them Leela. They say that Leela is in their minds even after days of watching it. She haunts them and also probes them to think. I have no words to express my happiness.”
The actress adds that her role in the film has also served as a confidence booster for her. “Some of the viewers even called me a promising actress. I am very well aware that I am just a two-film-old actress, but when people say that they have found an actress in me, I feel like doing more and giving my best,” says Parvathy.
The Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal artiste gives all credits for her current happiness to director Ranjith. “He is the reason of my success. The appreciation and recognition I gained are because of his trust in me. Five years ago, when I met him first during a reality show, he had promised me a role and he kept his word.”
Parvathy divulges that she had no apprehension in acting as Leela. “I knew taking up the film is a great challenge and also that Unni R’s short story is being talked about a lot. But what I thought was, when someone like Ranjith sir asks me to do it, I shouldn’t miss it. Above all, who will not love to be part of a Ranjith film? It is every Malayali actor’s dream and I find myself lucky to be chosen by him.”
So what’s next? “I have no idea. But as people have started telling me that their expectations on me have doubled, I have to plan my future wisely. I will pick the best from the offers that are coming to me. I would also like to focus on my studies,” she sums up.
