Director Rajeev Ravi of ‘Kammatipadam’ fame has lashed out against the Censor Board of Film Certification due to its demand of chopping off 89 scenes from the film, ‘Udta Punjab.’ The acclaimed director and cinematographer said that the actions of the Censor Board are leading to a situation where the filmmakers are stripped of their freedom of speech and expression.
Rajeev Ravi, who has cranked the camera for ‘Udta Punjab,’ says that the current standards of the board is making it difficult to make films where the director has to move to court to release the film. He added that the proposed 89 cuts are a censor to the creativity of the filmmaker.
