Sanju baba hones his killer instinct
Siddharth Anand’s as yet-untitled action drama rolls in August and Sanju baba has started training in a particular form of martial arts as part of his prep. “It’s a rigorous and intense form of martial arts that NSG commandos train in and which can help them kill a man with bare hands in just three moves,” informs the ‘Bang Bang!’ director who has been working on the script since the last six months. “It completely revolves around Sanjay who will be training through May and June.”
The 56-year-old actor has got himself a special trainer, Master Shifu Kanishka Sharma and trains with him every day for four hours. He is also doing freehand exercises as opposed to sweating it out in the gym. The efforts are paying off and Sanjay looks fighting fit with a short, spiked haircut and a French beard.
“Sanjay has been religiously practicing the commando-type training which also includes knives and swords,” say a source close to the actor.
Sanjay has reiterated that in this innings he wants to do great cinema and not do any movie as a favour to anyone or out of compulsion. “I want to make a difference,” he asserted. The actor who was known in the ’80s and ’90s for films like ‘Thanedar’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Khalnayak’ and ‘Vaastav’ to name a few will get back to the maar dhaad genre in a more mature avatar with this film. Siddharth had earlier directed the action-packed ‘Bang Bang!’, the official remake of the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz-starrer, ‘Knight And Day’, with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
