Mrudula Murali to make her Hindi debut
Her ghagra-choli clad Gujju girl look had won over the audience in the Fahadh Faasil-starrer ‘Ayal Njanalla’ and now actress Mrudula Murali is all set to woo the Hindi movie buffs.
The actress has landed a Bollywood project by filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who had directed the National Award winning film Pan Singh Tomar in 2012. Kunal Kapoor and Mohit Varma play the male protagonists in the movie that is titled ‘Rang Des’, in which, according to sources, Mrudula is the solo heroine.
The actress says, “Yes, I’m doing the film, but can’t talk about the details at this point.” In the movie, Mohit Varma is her hero and the shoot will start in the first week of July, says a source.
“The film is based on a real-life incident and can be termed a period film. Set in 1945, the movie has Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army trials as the backdrop,” the source adds. Mrudula’s latest film in Malayalam was Shikhamani, in which she acted alongside Chemban Vinod.
